10 Laser Mapping Works by Young Creators Selected for Screening!
As part of our mission to provide creative and presentation opportunities for aspiring young creators in the fields of video and art, we held an open call for laser mapping works inspired by the theme of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan — “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” — participants are invited to create works inspired by the concepts of “Life,” “Future,” and “Radiance.”
From across Japan, 30 groups—including individuals and teams—of creators aged 29 and under, including students and emerging talents, submitted their entries to help shape the future of visual expression. Out of these, 10 outstanding works have been selected. Each work is a powerful creation, crafted with ingenuity despite the limitations and technical challenges of laser mapping as a medium.
Not only are the visuals striking, but the works also place strong emphasis on concept and narrative, showcasing the imagination and bold spirit of a new generation of creators.
Utilizing ever-evolving laser technology, these works will be projected onto the massive façade of Sakishima Cosmo Tower, turning it into a dynamic canvas to broadcast art from Osaka to the world. We invite you to experience the works of young creators who have taken on the challenge of exploring new possibilities in visual expression on this grand, larger-than-life stage.

“One Light”/Nakata Ritsuki(Fantechs Corporation)/Osaka/Ritsuki Nakata
【Concept】
This work incorporates a rhythm inspired by a mother’s heartbeat to tell the story of how a single life emerges from countless possibilities. Shapes—circle, star, triangle, and square—are each infused with hopes for gentleness, brilliance, growth, and a sense of security. These shapes are placed with the intention that the life born will grow up nurtured by these qualities.
【Selection Comments】
The soft lines moving in sync with the heartbeat rhythm are soothing, and the theme of life’s beginning is expressed with great sensitivity and care. The thoughtful use of color variations and accent movements enhances both clarity and impact. The graphics and narrative are well-balanced, resulting in a beautifully executed visual work.

“Flow”/SHADECOR(Kwansei Gakuin University)/Hyogo/
Daiki Suehiro・Noa Nakajima・Sota Iwasaki・Chinatsu Aoyama・Yuto Segawa
【Concept】
Like a single drop of water embarking on a journey, water transforms in form as it flows across the world, nurturing life before eventually returning to a droplet once again. This work uses light to portray the interconnection of life formed through the water cycle and the endless rhythm of nature.
【Selection Comments】
Through the expanding motion from a single drop, this work illustrates the origin and interconnectedness of life. The building’s full façade is effectively utilized, and inventive presentation techniques appear throughout. The personification of the “droplet” is especially memorable, drawing the viewer deeply into the story.

”Seed of Light”/EruNohA(Osaka Electro-Communication University)/Osaka/
Miran Ishida
【Concept】
A sphere symbolizing life multiplies like cell division, creating flow and movement as it progresses toward a future society. Using geometry with many straight lines, the work depicts this evolution. The entire structure unravels once, then rebuilds itself, eventually generating another sphere (life), symbolizing the cycle and regeneration of life.
【Selection Comments】
Colorful lines cover the entire building, and the shifting expressions that accompany the color transitions provide a visually engaging experience. The central theme of the “cycle of life,” represented by the sphere, is clear and intuitively conveyed, making the message immediately accessible.

”Rinne”/SpeakerGirl(KUMAMOTO DESIGN PROFESSIONAL TRAINING COLLEGE)/Kumamoto/
Kazuki Sawa・Runa Fujibayashi・Chisa Oshikawa・Masanori Tado・Haruto Matsushima
【Concept】
With the theme of “What shapes and builds the future,” this work fluidly expresses the cycle of life. Contrails are reimagined as electrocardiograms, representing the heartbeat of life. The origin of life is seen as the sea, and wave-like motions are layered to reflect this idea. Life is interpreted as movement—riding waves, walking—and expressed through human motion. The form of life is distilled into a primitive cube, symbolizing prosperity and continuity.
【Selection Comments】
The organically evolving electrocardiogram-like line at the beginning creates a pleasing flow. The composition is original and leaves a strong impression. The work demonstrates a solid understanding of laser characteristics, with a high level of technical compatibility.

”Text on the walls”/Kentaro Tanaka(Hand.Inc)/Tokyo/Kentaro Tanaka
【Concept】
The words projected onto the building’s façade serve as a medium that visualizes the city’s memories and the voices of its people. Hidden thoughts and unspoken emotions buried in daily life emerge as light, giving new meaning to the space. Through the ephemeral technique of projection, the wall transforms from a screen into a storyteller, creating a space for dialogue between the city and its inhabitants.”Text on the Walls” is a poetic installation where words illuminate space and give meaning to silence.
【Selection Comments】
The font, designed like intertwining vines, dynamically decorates the entire building, creating a striking visual even from afar. The simple yet powerful expression carries a strong message. The approach, which considers the scale of the architecture and ensures visibility from all directions, is highly commendable in terms of alignment with the project’s concept.

”myaku”/Kenan(KUMAMOTO DESIGN PROFESSIONAL TRAINING COLLEGE)/
Kumamoto/Hina Aito・Reina Iwaoka・Mina Kuromaru・Miu Honda
【Concept】
Water flows as if tracing the veins of a hand, a droplet creates ripples, and vines are born from those ripples, intertwining with the hand—this sequence expresses a sense of unity with nature. Motifs such as blood vessels, water veins, and vines—all inspired by the concept of “pulse”—are depicted through organic curves, symbolizing the flow of life. The work reflects a hope that the connection between people and nature will enrich the future.
【Selection Comments】
The striking image of a giant hand appearing on the building façade leaves a lasting impression and adds a unique compositional interest. The quiet portrayal of the bond between humanity and nature resonates emotionally, resulting in a conceptually rich work despite its simple structure.

”emotion”/kaito kitamoto /Saitama/Kaito Kitamoto
【Concept】
With the theme of emotions and folders, this work connects life, existence, future, and emotion. Life is the essence of one’s journey, and emotions exist in the future as well. As we live, emotions always accompany us—at this very moment, countless emotional expressions are emerging in various places. Folders, in this context, symbolize the accumulation of emotions and experiences, representing a person’s life itself.
【Selection Comments】
The bold, large-scale use of the entire building leaves a strong impression. The diverse development of scenes keeps the audience engaged throughout. Dynamic motions across a grand scale are thoughtfully integrated, creating a composition with clear contrasts and rhythm.

”Geometric life”/koishi(CANPLAIZE Inc.)/Kyoto/
【Concept】
A story woven from the life of a single droplet. A newly born life begins its own journey, encountering meetings, crossroads, and difficult choices. Over time, these experiences spiral into a great vortex and reach a peak of happiness. Yet, as the end nears, life eventually returns to the single droplet from which it began.
【Selection Comments】
The work impresses with its skillful combination of shapes and lines. The seamless, dynamic development across the building’s full façade brings a strong sense of unity and rhythm. The creator clearly understands the nature of lasers, utilizing not only geometric lines but also finely crafted line work to achieve delicate, laser-specific graphic expression.

”Connection”/designing plus nine/Kanagawa/Chinami Tani・Akito Honda・Misaki Saito
【Concept】
A single life is born from darkness, overcomes challenges, and shines brilliantly. Drawn to that beautiful light, others gather, and their bond strengthens the brilliance of life. These connections are passed on to new lives, forming an unbroken thread of unity. This evolving chain of bonds across generations lights the future of all life on Earth with hope.
【Selection Comments】
This work delicately depicts the various connections formed throughout life using elegant motion graphics. It effectively utilizes the structure of the building and shows a strong understanding of laser characteristics. The result is a highly refined work of visual expression.

”The Relay of Life”/ArtScienceTeam[HIMMY](Osaka University of Arts)/Osaka/
Hayate Minami・Hikaru Yasui・Soushi Miyake・Tomotari Hamada・Erika Iisaka
【Concept】
This work expresses the origin of life emerging from water, the source of all life, and the ongoing passing of the baton of life through vigorous and dynamic motion. Cells born from a droplet divide and evolve, symbolized by circles representing life, which are passed on to various animals. Eventually, life expands infinitely into the universe through human hands and transforms into love. The work aims to inspire a sense of possibility for the future.
【Selection Comments】
The narrative of animals and humans passing on the baton of life is portrayed with warmth and sensitivity. The dynamic movements that utilize the unique features of the building façade are highly effective and give the entire work a rich sense of scale and expansion.
