THEMED
A delicate light installation connecting the vitality of life and the mystery of nature
The Sakishima Cosmo Tower, a landmark in the Osaka Bay Area,
will be magically illuminated with light art during the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
All life is born, grows and weaves a story to the next life while connecting with all other beings.
The cycle of the four seasons, which live in the complex balance and harmony of nature,
is superimposed on the cycle of life to express the "connection of life" to the future.

SAKURAKO SAITO
Lighting Director
A lighting designer who interweaves poetic expressions from the complex and delicate relationship between the environment and light.
Using the sensibility cultivated in the nature, she catches beauty that goes beyond the urban perspective and creates interactive and dynamic spaces. She specializes in experiential productions that combine lighting, video and sound, and expresses a supernatural worldview by combining the warmth of analog with the innovativeness of digital. She won KUKAN DESIGN AWARD for her laser mapping at the national treasure Matsumoto Castle.
TAKASHI SHIGETAKE
Visual Artist/Technical Director
As a member of the Projection Mapping Association of Japan and COLORs CREATION Co.Ltd., he is involved in various projection mapping projects both in Japan and abroad.
While working primarily in VJ and CG production, in recent years he has been creating works using multimedia control, including XR control that connects the real and virtual, LED and laser control. With both a creative and technological development background, he is taking part in a wide variety of projects.
In 2019 and 2023, he was selected as a finalist in the internationally renowned competition, "1minute Projection Mapping Competition".

HIROYUKI HOSAKA
Art Director
He specializes in designing spaces with dynamic production that make full use of light, sound and video. He has worked on many projects, including the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, as well as media facades for Ferris wheels and stadiums.
In recent years, he has also been exploring new processes of expression that incorporate AI, machine learning and data science.
Past achievements: Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Circle of Light in Russia, Osaka Hikari Renaissance, SPECTA in Universal City Walk, etc.
YUKI NITTA
Motion Graphics Designer
Specializing in motion graphics, he has worked in diverse fields, from spatial to on-screen. He has particularly made many achievements in event production, and his strong points are dynamic, immersive expressions and detailed visual designs.
RIRIKO TAKADA
Motion graphics designer
She has worked on many code-based animations and interactive productions that make full use of programming.
She also excels in drawing and 2D/3DCG animation production techniques, and is active in a wide range of fields as a multimedia creator.
PROGRAM
While representating the energy brought by life and nature, and the delicate yet magnificent beauty interwoven by the seasons, it also expresses a strong breath connected to the future.
The production changes for each season "Spring: -Birth-", "Summer: -Radiance-" and "Autumn: -Transition-" - visualizes environmental data observed in Osaka Prefecture in 1970, the year the Osaka Expo was held, including "tide levels" (Spring), "solar radiation level" (Summer), and "wind direction and speed" (Autumn), expressing the connection between "sea", "light" and "sky" through laser mapping.

Yumeshima and Sakishima are connected through the sea.
The sea will expand and connect with life around the world.
The breath of spring which experiences the birth of life, is drawn softly and organically using ocean waves and spring motifs.

With “SUPERNATURAL” as its keyword, this lighting design firm collaborates with programmers and engineers to create light effects using cutting-edge technology. Their mission is to create one-of-a-kind spatial experiences by combining technological innovation and artistry while highlighting the beauty of shadows. Their creativity and technical skills are demonstrated in spectacular light projects such as the comprehensive laser projection mapping of the national treasure Matsumoto Castle Keep, and the “NightWave” light sculpture that visualizes the natural phenomenon of “waves” and makes them appear quietly as a single ray of light with the sound of crashing waves. Winner of numerous awards, including the Kukan Design Award Gold Prize.
